Trimble has made an important change regarding Tekla Structures perpetual licenses without a valid maintenance contract. This change takes effect immediately and affects a number of services related to your license. We would like to inform you about what this change means for you.
Effective immediately, Trimble no longer provides the following services for perpetual licenses without a valid maintenance contract. If you require any of these services, unfortunately, we will no longer be able to provide them for you.
- Replacement entitlements (license keys)
- Transfer of existing licenses
- Technical support
What does this mean in practice?
- In the event of activation or deactivation issues, replacement licenses can no longer be provided.
- In the event of a computer or server crash, a lost license can no longer be replaced.
- Technical support for license management and activation is no longer available.
What is changing and when?
You may already be aware that maintenance contracts for Tekla Structures perpetual licenses will end on January 1, 2028. What is new is that, as of October 1, 2026, Trimble has discontinued the services listed above for perpetual licenses without a valid maintenance contract. Customers with a valid maintenance contract will continue to have access to these services through December 31, 2027.
How can you retain access to all services if you no longer have an active maintenance license?
To retain access to these services in 2027, you can switch to a Named User Subscription. Under Trimble’s current TradeUp program, you can do so on attractive terms until October 30, 2026:
- Benefit from attractive TradeUp discounts
- Greater visibility into future costs
- More flexible license management
- Standard access to Tekla Model Sharing
- You will be well prepared ahead of the end of maintenance at the end of 2027
Did you cancel your maintenance contract earlier this year? You may still be eligible for the TradeUp program.
